然而，打脸似乎来得太快，一直以来这艘航母的下水都是一波三折，原本服役的期限一再延迟，维克兰特号航母开工建造的时候，中国的辽宁号还在改装中，没有下水服役，等到维克兰特号航母第二次下水的时候，辽宁号航母已经开始了服役并且进行出海训练。如今，001A型航母已经下水了，维克兰特号航母的上层建筑却还只有一个壳子。对此，就连印度网友也不买账了，有印度网友跟帖称，预计等到维克兰特号航母在第十次下水的时候就可以完成服役了，印度海军曾经在上世纪的80年到90年代的时候拥有过双航母舰队。无论是在航母的使用经验还是实战经验都是世界领先的，彼时的中国既无航母，又无大型舰艇，在海军力量上，印度曾是中国仰望的对象，但是现如今却在国产航母上输掉了一大截，不得不说这是一个悲哀。不仅如此，维克兰特号航母建造至今也只有一个空壳子，虽然舰岛已经安装完毕，但是却缺乏应有的电子设备，比如相控阵雷达等。此外，印度海军号称的70%国产化率也没能够实现，现阶段的维克兰特号航母动力系统来自美国、舰载机来自俄罗斯、防空导弹和雷达设备来自以色列，甚至就连钢材也需要进口，与中国的近100%国产化率比起来，印度航母实在差距太远。甚至有印度网友悲观的认为，印度海军曾经认为碾压辽宁舰很容易，但是如今中国马上就要服役001A型航母，002型航母也正在建造当中，这种速度印度恐怕永远也追赶不上，而中国在海军上的发展上也早已不再与印度作对比，而是正在以强大的美国为追赶的目标，恐怕最后欲哭无泪的是印度才对。美国的一批军事专家曾经在登上维克兰特号航母后就表示，印度的航母实在是糟糕透了，估计至少也得十年才能形成战斗力，看来指望印度海军来达到牵制的愿望已经破灭了。

It may need another two years to lay 1000 of kilometers of cables, putting electronic gadgets/equipment, placing defensive platforms. There after it will need a full year for Harbour acceptance tests, then sea acceptance tests before it is declared as operational ready. Pilots need to be trained in landing and taking off in rough seas.
